Who I Am
Hi and thank you for visiting Furness Repair Studio. I’m Andrea Jelleff, business owner and repair technician at Furness Repair Studio. I have 35 years experience in the music industry, teaching, 20 years as a technician and business owner. I am NAPBIRT Accredited (National Association of Professional and Band Instrument Repair Technicians) and am a fully qualified Woodwind and Brasswind Technician. I hold a Bachelor of Education in Music. I have been a professional musician in the Defence Services for 10 years, played many musical theatre shows, taught classroom and instrumental music in private and public schools and have played with many leading Australian and International artists.
I’m passionate about providing excellent service, support, repairing instruments to fit with the musicians special requirements and budget. I understand technically and musically how an instrument in great adjustment can enhance performance for that musician as it provides peace of mind for them and facilitates confidence in their equipment.
What I Do
Daily, I repair and service all woodwind and brass instruments. I advise students, parents, teachers and musical enthusiasts of all ages about instrument maintenance, assembly, instrument brands / models and playing their instrument to higher levels. I provide support recommending products / accessories that are of a high quality, tuition and tips about all things music, instruments and personal growth.
I am comfortable and confident repairing most popular instrument brands.

Why I Do It
I love repairing musical instruments so they play consistently and I support the musician personally with their growth in music. I’m really excited to see the musician play competently, with confidence and develop their skills. There are so many skills to be gained from playing music. For instance hand to eye co ordination, empathy, team work, leadership, self esteem, acknowledging individuality and compassion just to name a few. It’s never too late to play and learn and I love that!
